[Durham INC] staff coordinator position at Keep Durham Beautiful open: applications close Friday, November 4

Dorothea Pierce has resigned from her staff position at Keep Durham Beautiful, and the City of Durham is seeking her replacement. Applications for the position (#4102) close Friday, Nov. 4. Currently the job requires a college degree and three years experience heading a 501c3 organization, but those qualifications may change. The position's salary range is about $34,000--$54,000. 


Some INC delegates, particularly David Harris, have had the privilege of working with Dorothea as she started up this City/County collaboration.

Keep Durham Beautiful: The purpose of thisposition is to coordinate a non-profit organization and act as liaison to theCity, County, and other neighborhood, civic, faith-based, and educationalentities. This is accomplished by organizing and facilitating meetings, events,and programs, researching and presenting information regarding litter, solidwaste reduction and beautification, and communicating with the community. Otherduties include speaking to groups, designing graphics, organizing and managingvolunteers, and providing Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)assessments. A basic familiarity with accounting procedures, social media, andmarketing practices is preferred.
