*Durham Announces Revised Trash & Recycling Collections Schedule*

*Curbside Collections Modified Due to Icy Road Conditions*



DURHAM, N.C. – The Solid Waste Management Department
<http://durhamnc.gov/832/Solid-Waste-Management> has announced a revised
trash and recycling curbside collections schedule to catch up on
collections this week that have been delayed due to the recent winter
weather.



*Revised Curbside Collections Schedule*

·        Wednesday, January 11 – Regular Monday customers will receive
trash and recycling collections

·        Thursday, January 12 – Regular Tuesday customers will receive
trash and recycling collections

·        Friday, January 13 – Regular Wednesday customers will receive
trash and recycling collections

·        Saturday, January 14 – Regular Thursday customers will receive
trash and recycling collections



Customers are asked to leave their carts on their curbs for collection in
case the department doesn’t finish the entire route because crews will
return the next day. Since collections for this week will now focus on
trash and recycling, exempt-service customers as well as yard waste and
bulky items collections are suspended for all customers until next week on
their regularly scheduled collection day.



The Waste Disposal and Recycling Center

tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. and will extend operating hours to 4:30 p.m. on
Saturday, January 14. Any questions or concerns regarding solid waste
collection schedule changes should be directed to Durham One Call
<http://durhamnc.gov/1439/Durham-One-Call> at (919) 560-1200.



Customers are also reminded that Durham City Hall and non-emergency
operations will be closed on Monday, January 16 to recognize Martin Luther
King, Jr. Day <http://nc-durham.civicplus.com/DocumentCenter/View/13461>.
Collection for all services, which includes solid waste, recycling, yard
waste and bulky items, will be delayed by one business day
<http://durhamnc.gov/918/Holiday-Schedule> for the week of January 16-20.
Collections for yard waste and bulky items on January 20 will instead occur
on January 23. The Waste Disposal & Recycling Center, Yard Waste Facility,
and the Household Hazardous Waste Center

January 16.
