Durham Seeks Public Art Submissions for New Police Headquarters & 911 Center

December 1 Submission Deadline



DURHAM, N.C. - Local, regional and national artists are invited to apply<https://www.callforentry.org/festivals_unique_info.php?ID=4828> for the opportunity to design, fabricate and install public art to enhance the future Durham Police Headquarters and Durham Emergency Communications Center<http://durhampoliceheadquartersproject.com/>.



>From now until Friday, December 1, 2017, qualified artists or artist teams can submit their qualifications and interest in this project for public art integration into areas in the interior and exterior of the site. Application materials should include: statement of interest, annotated samples of previous work relevant to project, project personnel resume(s) and references. The new complex<http://durhampoliceheadquartersproject.com/> is currently under construction and is located on approximately 4.5 acres at the intersection of East Main and Elizabeth Streets in downtown Durham. The facility is expected to open in August 2018.



This public art project is sponsored by the City of Durham General Services Department and Office of Economic and Workforce Development in collaboration with the Durham Police Department, Durham Emergency Communications Center and the Durham Cultural Advisory Board's Public Art Committee.
