The Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (Ohio AAP) has partnered with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) on a number of new continuing education opportunities that include pediatric and adolescent health.

LIVE or WEBINAR: DTaP Drop-Off MOC Part II & CME Presentation

The fourth dose of the DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis) is one of Ohio’s lowest rates in the childhood vaccination schedule. The Ohio AAP has developed a presentation and toolkit to address this disparity and provide strategies to raise the rate in primary care practices. The pre-survey and two-hour presentation carry MOC Part II points for eligible pediatricians along with three hours of continuing medical education (CME) for physicians. Nurses and medical assistants can also claim this as a CE credit. The presentations are on the following dates:

  *   Live & Webinar: Wednesday, June 21, 10:00am–12:00pm
(Ohio AAP Office, 94-A Northwoods Blvd., Columbus, OH 43235)
  *   Webinar: Thursday, June 22, 5:00–7:00pm
  *   Webinar: Friday, June 23, 8:15–10:15am

WEBINAR: Proven Strategies to Increase the Quantity and Quality of Adolescent Well Visits in Your Practice

The Ohio AAP will share best practices in adolescent well visits in a two-hour webcast created by national experts on lessons learned from the Chapter’s “TALK” adolescent well care program. The program aimed to changing the paradigm of how adolescents and families view their health care between the ages of 12-18 years. Learn how practices were able to improve adolescent well visit rates, no-show rates, HPV vaccination rates and experience an overall increase in the quality of adolescent care.

Webinar attendees will receive a number of resources to use in their practice, including a well care pocket guide, reminder/recall postcards, and HPV brochures. You may view a flyer with more information here<http://ohioaap.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/JuneTALKWebinars.pdf>.
