[MCIC Safety] Six Sigma for Safety?

Has anyone looked seriously into doing or completed any Six Sigma
projects for safety?  We have a corporate Six Sigma guru and are
starting discussions about whether the approach will work for
safety/environmental issues.  Wondered if anyone has any experience,
good or bad, that they can tell me about?
