The Municipal Bond Referendum Presentation: Be an Informed Voter.
Brought to you by the: The Durham Community Environmental Coalition & The
City of Durham.
Free and Open to the public.
When: Wednesday, September 14th at 7:00pm.
Where: Downtown Public Library Auditorium (first floor) at 300 N. Roxboro,
Durham.
On November 8th, 2005 you the citizens of Durham will vote for a mayor,
three city council members and will vote on eight individual bonds. Do you
know what each bond is? The $110 million bond referendum includes funds for
Parks, Streets & Sidewalks, Cultural Facilities, Public Safety, Public
Improvements, Water & Sewer, Parking and Neighborhood Improvements.
More importantly, do you know what is contained within each bond? It might
be surprising to learn that the bond called the Public Improvement Bond
contains items related to solid waste and contamination threats. The
Neighborhood Improvement Bond funding can be used for environmental clean up
and land purchase. Just what else is in this bond?
Come to this informative presentation from Durham's City Manager, Patrick
Baker (and staff) to hear more about the bonds and get your questions
answered.
