ANNOUNCEMENT

The Durham Board of County Commissioners solicits applicants to fill 
positions on the following citizen boards and commissions:

Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee (2 At-large positions)
Animal Control Advisory Board (2 positions—1 Veterinarian & 1 District 
Attorney)
Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (1 Bicycle Club/Organization 
position—application due Nov. 30th)
Boxing and Wrestling Commission (1 position)
Community Child Protection Team/Child Fatality Prevention Team (2 
positions—1 Fireman or EMS Representative & 1 At-large)
Criminal Justice Partnership Act Advisory Board (1 Probation Officer & 1 
Substance Abuse Representative)
Emergency Medical Services Council (1 Duke Life Flight representative; 3 
First Responders—1 Lebanon Volunteer Fire Dept., 1 Eno Volunteer Fire Dept., 
& 1 New Hope Volunteer Fire Dept.; 1 Durham Emergency Operations Center 
representative; and 2 Law Enforcement—City of Durham Police Dept. and NC Hwy 
Patrol)
Environmental Affairs Board (1 “Air Resources” position—application due Nov. 
30th)
Multi-Jurisdictional Advisory Board (2 at-large positions—application due 
Nov. 30th)
Open Space and Trails Commission (3 At-large positions)
Public Health Board (4 positions—1 Engineer, 1 Optometrist, 1 Pharmacist, &
1 Physician)
Raleigh-Durham Airport Noise Abatement Committee (1 at-large position)
Workforce Development Board (2 Community-based & 2 Private Sector positions)

Property tax listing must be current.  County and City taxes must not 
reflect any delinquencies before an application is submitted.

Appointments will be considered by the County Commissioners on Monday,
December 12, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, second 
floor, Durham County Government Administrative Complex, 200 East Main 
Street.
