Fast Facts
·         Durham Art Walk is a free chance for urban explorers to discover
Durham’s hidden treasures by over 90 Durham-based artists in downtown
studios and impromptu exhibit venues.  Live musical entertainment will be
available at several of the venues and attendees are encouraged to get a
jumpstart on their holiday shopping.

·         Once visitors arrive on Main Street, there is street parking
available in addition to the Corcoran Street Parking Deck and the Durham
Centre Parking Deck.

·         Durham Art Walk takes place in numerous locations throughout
downtown Durham.  Since downtown is a 12 x 14 block area, all of the
locations are within a 10-minute walk from the main location at the Durham
Arts Council.

·         Durham Art Walk strives to heighten awareness of the rich,
diverse art environment of downtown Durham and encourage exchange among
artists, business owners, and participants.  Durham Art Walk also works to
stimulate interest and recognition of the importance of the creative
process.

·         Last year, over 1,000 visitors attended the Durham Art Walk,
increasing attendance over the past two years by 200 percent.
