A 30-year-old holiday tradition in the Durham Community is Share Your
Christmas. The program is managed by the Volunteer Center of Durham for the
Durham County Department of Social Services.
150 More Families Need Holiday Help!
Yet we need to ask for community help once again, because the holidays are
not yet over. More than 1300 families in Durham are seeking holiday gifts
through Share Your Christmas. Over half of these families have been
assigned to sponsors already, more than 150 families are still waiting for
help -- and time is running out. The remaining families must be matched
with sponsors by Monday, December 19. The Volunteer Center¹s preference at
this point is for actual items. For folks who want to help but don't have
time to head to the mall, cash donations will enable our virtual army of
volunteer shoppers to comb the stores for the items on each family's wish
list. Please pick a family from the profiles running in the Herald-Sun
newspaper and call the Share Your Christmas phone line (919-680-0140) to
sign up as a sponsor, or just send a check to the Volunteer Center of
Durham, payable to Share Your Christmas. You can also make a secure online
donation via our website www.thevolunteercenter.org

&EmailID=15315887&Link=http://www.thevolunteercenter.org/>. Rest
assured that 100% of your donation will go directly to purchase the gifts.
Pick up the phone and call today operators are standing by!
