INC NEWS - Durham Art Walk Now Accepting Registrations

Durham, N.C. – Artists in Durham will have a unique opportunity to
showcase their work at the upcoming Durham Art Walk, scheduled for the
weekend of April 8-9, 2006, in conjunction with the Full Frame Documentary
Film Festival. 
 
Durham Art Walk is currently accepting artist registrations for
the event.  The registrations are to secure display space for the artist
at this community event, which will be held in downtown Durham.  
Registered artists will be included in the Durham Art Walk map and on the
Durham Art Walk website. 
 
Sponsored by the City of Durham, Downtown Durham, Inc., and the Durham
Arts Council, this bi-annual, free event showcases the works of
Durham-based artists.  Last November, over 3,000 visitors attended the
Durham Art Walk, doubling attendance from the previous year’s event.
 
Durham-based artists with studio spaces within the five districts of
downtown Durham are eligible to participate.  There is also a limited
number of spaces downtown for Durham-based artists who do not have studio
spaces, but still wish to display and sell their work.
 
The registration deadline is Monday, February 27, 2006.   There will also
be an Artist Orientation Meeting on Monday, February 27, 2006, at 6 p.m.
at the Durham Arts Council, located at 120 Morris Street, Durham.
