As a member of RTA for the past 4 years I've enjoyed being able to attend these educational programs..

Thank you to everyone who participated in the first session of the 2006 RTA Transportation Academy Solution Series!  We had great attendance with nearly 60 current and future Alliance members learning about toll technology from HNTB North Carolina, PC and about an innovative design concept called "Super Streets" from Stantec Consulting and Parsons Brinckerhoff.

 

The RTA Transportation Academy also received media coverage from WRAL and NBC 17.  WRAL covered the toll technology presentation, providing compelling information to the region about new trends in toll technology and how Toll Roads Could Be In Triangle's Future Within Year (WRAL 2/28/06).  NBC 17 informed viewers about the "Super Street" design which would allow drivers to spend less time at stop lights by reducing the number of arrows in a given intersection (no link).
