INC NEWS - Neighborhood notification

A couple more points on neighborhood notification

1- A lot of names got dropped from the list in the update (these may not
have been effective anyhow, since there is no guarantee that someone getting
notices was passing them on to the neighborhood). We will bring a copy of
the notification list to next couple INC meetings so folks can see if they
(and their neighboring neighborhoods) are still on it. You can also check
the map and the list on Planning Department's website
durham.nc.us/departments/planning/

2- The former ordinance had a one-mile distance for Plan Amendment.
Rezonings
had a 1000 foot distance.  The UDO changed this distance to match that for
rezonings, 1000 feet.
Neighborhoods can request a different area for notification (within reason!)
to take in a different area of interest than what is covered by a
circle drawn 1000 feet beyond the Association boundary -- if, for example,
your concern is
mostly traffic and that is generated over a larger area.

Regards, pat
