Dogs also jump and climb over fences ... and fences are often unsightly and 
nuisances in themselves ... I think invisible fences deserve a try ...  They 
work without fail in my neighborhood, and they are much easier to install 
...

They actually don't always work, and all it takes is one aggressive or 
unsocialized dog breaking through the signal to do serious damage. I've seen 
dogs get really excited or aggressive and run right through the "fence." 
Once they're out and have calmed down, they won't go back home because they 
know they'll get zapped at the border.
