Four local artists will hold a painted furniture fundraiser workshop  
for the Independent Animal Rescue. During the
two-day workshop, artists Emily Weinstein, Kathyrn DeMarco, Juliet  
Jensen, and Paula MacLeod will teach
how to prepare furniture for applications, various faux finishes,  
mosaic, and collage techniques.

The workshop fee of $40 includes a piece of furniture for  
participants to work with, as well as many of the materials. The  
annual Painted Chair and More Auction is to be held July 14, 2007.  
Proceeds from the auction support  IAR’s programs. The Independent  
Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization that receives no public  
funds. IAR operates the following animal welfare programs:


Foster Program, Community Spay/Neuter Program (C-SNP), The Coalition  
to Unchain Dogs, Feral Cat Program and Dog Behavioral Training Program


A free demonstration and sign up session is scheduled for Wednesday,  
April 26 at Broad Street Cafe, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. The workshop  
dates and times are
Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29, 11 am to 5 pm each day.

captivating in their intricacy.

projects.
Paula MacLeod has rose in her field as a mosaic artist; featured on  
TV's HGTV.
Emily Weinstein, artist-author is best known for her animal  
portraiture, murals and books.
