Please be advised that Tax Administrator Ken Joyner will address Durham
County’s Schedule of Values at the BOCC meeting on June 25, at 7:00 pm.

The Uniform Schedules of Values, Standards, and Rules are essentially the
guidelines which the appraisal staff uses to uniformly appraise all real
property at market value. It contains the basics of mass appraisal
methodology.  A common analogy for Schedule of Values is that it is a
cookbook for appraisal; a recipe for how the county is to appraise real
property.

According to North Carolina statute ‘The Assessor shall submit a copy of
the proposed schedules to the Board of County Commissioners not less than
21 days before the meeting at which they will be considered by the Board’.
    

Durham County’s schedules consist of a twenty (20) volume set to be
presented to the commissioners on Monday night, June 25, 2007 and a copy
will also be made available for public inspection.
