There is nothing yet on the open space amendments on the website pointed to (very unhelpful!)

There also a proposed UDO amendment to make different rules on how many cars can be lined up at drive-thru places to eat, when there are separate windows for ordering and getting your (so called??/) food

On the storage stuff, it more carefully defines a temporary container, allows it to be on a site with building permit indefinitely, increases the length you can have one without a permit otherwise from 3 to 30 days, increases the total length of time from 30 to 90 days.  My only concern is that there seems to be a difference between rules on distance from property lines for single family and other residences -- nieghborhoods concerned about duplexes and other small multi-family buildings might want to take a look at that text.

the proposed change to the text of the Durham 
Unified
Development Ordinance 
(UDO):
Text Change TC07-06 
proposes revisions to the following sections of the Unified Development 

Ordinance:  
Section 5.5, Temporary Uses, specifically paragraph 1, Portable On-Site 
Storage.
The Durham County Board of Commissioners will hold a 
public hearing on October 8, 2007 at 7 PM in the 
Commissioner’s
Chambers at 200 East Main Street.  
Please contact the Planning Department for confirmation of the hearing 
dates.
The proposed revisions, once finalized, may be viewed at 
the web site listed above.
