Adapted from her novella by Jody McAuliffe, MY LOVELY SUICIDES is a surreal
dreamplay charting the tortured
life of the original suicidal artist, Heinrich von Kleist. Wildly famous in
the rest of the world and a cult favorite in the US, Kleist was the author
19th century classics The Marquise of O., Michael Kohlhaas, Penthesilea, and
The Prince of Homburg. A multi-media, movement theater staging.

Downtown Durham. Maps may be picked up at the Durham Arts Council, 120
Morris Street.  Has special exhibits, a variety of programs on the CCB
Plaza, and more music, activities and performances throughout the downtown
area. Every placed marked with red dots.
Friday preview 6 ­ 9, Saturday 10 am - 5 pm,  Sunday 1 pm - 5 pm   Rain or

³Here¹s a chance for urban explorers to discover hidden treasures by artists
in downtown studios, impromptu exhibit venues, and revitalized living
spaces.²  This year Durham Art Walk has over 40 sites, over 200 artists,
over 60 performers, and finished streets with sparkling new sidewalks!  Hang
out at and take a musical breather at the CCB Plaza and other performing
arts venues throughout the Durham Art Walk

Scrap Exchange Real live artists including Kirk Adam and Adam Peele will be
displaying their products all three days at The Scrap Exchange starting
Friday night, along with CraftLand in the back gallery. Live music and
demonstrations throughout the weekend.  548 Foster St

Saturday, November 17, 10 - 5
Triangle Greyhound Society Recycled Racers, artist demos throughout the day.
Scene of the Crime Rovers alternative marching band will play at 2:30pm then
process to CCB Plaza for more music.

Sunday, November 18, 12 -5
Live music! Kiss the Angels ~ Teenage boy band with original songs and
covers featuring Danny Brossart and Bradly Hughes. The band will play two
sets, one at 2:30 and one at 3pm.

Saturday, December 1  4pm - 5:30pm

Durham Holiday Parade
Theme Musical Notes and Holiday Floats.

Starts at the new ballpark and ends at the old ballpark.

The Scrap Exchange will host three art-making sessions prior to the parade:
Friday, November 16, 6-9pm. (Third Friday/Durham Art Walk will be happening
at this time, snacks and live music from Sancta!)
Friday, November 30, 6 - 9pm
Saturday December 1, 1 - 3pm ~ come put the final touches on your costume
before we start walking at 3pm.
Hats, wings, capes, headdresses, floats, bicycle decorating (fossil fuel
free pulling of floats), and making "ho" signs are some of the projects you
can make to use in the parade. Shakers and musical instruments are also
welcome if you would like to play along with the band.

Materials will be provided by the Scrap Exchange on the above dates and
times.

Durham Farmers Market will run through the winter again this year. This
winter the market is planning on staying in the pavilion on Foster St. (near
Scrap Exchange and Durham Athletic Park) and then the regular schedule will
begin again on April 5th.
