[Durham INC] INC Seeks Neighborhood Heroes Nominations NOW! Trifecta party event planned for Thursday, June 18, at Rigsbee Hall

InterNeighborhood Council will celebrate 25 years of service to Durham and its neighborhoods on Thursday, June 18, 7 to 9 p.m., at Rigsbee Hall in Downtown Durham (208 Rigsbee Street).

         The party that evening will also honor Durham?s 2008 and 2009 Neighborhood Heroes.

         Every Durham neighborhood has at least one hero/heroine or heroes/heroines. Durham?s InterNeighborhood Council organizes an event to honor Durham city or county residents who provide spectacular volunteer service to their neighborhoods. Durham Neighborhood Heroes have a heart-felt desire to keep their community alive and vibrant. Their volunteer efforts make their neighborhoods more of a community, unique, more enjoyable, safer, and cleaner.

            Past INC Heroes are neighbors who provided individual help to their neighbors, rescued crime victims, organized community gardens, founded neighborhood associations, or worked to sustain and improve their neighborhood.

         INC is seeking nominations for the 2009 Heroes. Please consult with your neighbors about the best selection to receive this year?s honor.

         Nominations are due Sunday, May 10.

         The nomination form is posted at www.durham-inc.org, and can be submitted via e-mail to heroes at durham-inc.org, or mailed to 6702 Glen Forest Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27517. Hard copies of the nomination form are available upon request.  

         Please note that the original application form (many of those are in circulation) had an incorrect e-mail address!!! The CORRECT e-mail address to submit applications or ask questions is heroes at durham-inc.org.
