If you received an email earlier today about the Jordan Lake Survey fund (NOT the Jordan Lake Rules), please ignore it -- this is the correct one:

We JUST made $1000 last week to earn the matching donation. So we are at $2000.00. That said, only 15 people have made donations. We need to get to at least $4000, to make this worth our while. The more we earn, the larger the area we can survey.

As luck would have it, we have ANOTHER matching donation of $1000.00 for THIS WEEK :) So don't delay -- donate just $5 right now
 and let's earn this

I really expected that those of you who signed the petition would at least donate $5.

mmr121570 at yahoo.com), but note that this will not be a tax deductible payment (it's just too complicated via my paypal account).

Alternatively, you can go to the Haw River Assembly website, and click on 'Join HRA' in the Far left column. Choose individual membership and pay (via credit card or Paypal) $20 for membership. Then send the HRA or me an email and indicate that you would like this money to go toward the Jordan Lake Survey Fund.

If you want to send a check, that info is below as well.

I am still confident that we can earn the funds we need to survey at least the easternmost point. But I'm starting to get frustrated with Durham's apathy here. 

If we do NOT earn the funds we need, the HRA will notify you and REFUND your money. So you have
 nothing to lose.

To protect
a precious resource, you need to act before it’s too late.  

  

Over
two thousand of you signed an online petition, protesting the approval of a
developer’s survey changing the boundary of Jordan Lake, where over 400,000 of
us get our water. 

  

This
developer’s survey is working its way through the approval process. Only you
can stop it, but you need to act now. 

  

Please
contribute to a survey of the contentious eastern border of Jordan Lake being
commissioned by the Haw River Assembly. Donations (up to a total of  $1000) will be matched by a generous
donor, who wishes to remain anonymous. 

  

There
are two easy ways to contribute. 

 1.
Send a check to: The

NC 27228  Make
the check out to Haw River Assembly. Put 'Jordan Lake Survey' in the memo. (If
your contribution is less than $20, we request that you include a note
indicating that you do not need a tax-deductible receipt/letter, saving us the
expense of printing letters and postage. But don't let this keep you from
making a donation—we can issue a receipt for a donation as little as $5, if you
really want it.) 

  

2. Make
an online Paypal payment (not tax-deductible, but easy)  

 Once
logged into your own paypal account (via www.paypal.com),
click on the 'send money' link and specify payment by credit card. Indicate
that the payment is to be made to my Paypal account/email address: mmr121570 at yahoo.com Select
'services/other' for the type of payment. 
All proceeds to my paypal account will be added together and sent by
check to the Haw River Assembly. Together,
we can stop the destruction of Jordan Lake.
