MLK Employee Celebration & Durham Documentary Airing on DTV8

 

DURHAM, N.C. - Durham residents who were unable to attend the Fifth
Annual City-County Martin Luther King, Jr. Employee Observance Program
will soon get their chance to watch highlights of the event on DTV8. 

 

For the fifth year, employees from Durham City and County governments
gathered to reflect on the legacy of Dr. King and to remember how their
roles as public servants should be modeled after the ideals of Dr. King
in their daily lives.  The event, which took place on Thursday, January
14 at the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Durham, will be aired on
DTV8 beginning Saturday, January 16, 2010, at 11 a.m.   The program will
be rebroadcast on DTV8 through February on Saturdays and Sundays at 11
a.m. and 5 p.m.; Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 3 p.m.; and
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 p.m.  The program will also be available
to watch "on demand" on the City's Web site at 
www.durhamnc.gov/dtv8/video.cfm. 

 

DTV8 has also received special permission to begin airing "Durham: A
Self Portrait," a documentary film and educational media project on the
history of Durham.  The program will begin airing Monday, January 18,
2010, at 10 p.m.  It will rebroadcast on January 25 at 10 p.m. as well
as on February 1 and February 8 at 2 p.m.  For more information about
