historic district includes areas around Fayetteville, Dunbar, Dunstan,
Price, Merrick, Lincoln and Umstead Streets. A map of the proposed historic
district is enclosed and flyer for posting information. The historic
district is scheduled to be reviewed by the North Carolina National Register
Advisory Committee in Raleigh on Thursday, October 14. *If approved the
Stokesdale Historic District will be the first African American historic

consultant and owner of HMWPreservation, prepared the nomination, and she
will make a presentation about the history and architecture of the district.

what it means to be listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the
application process, and the state and federal income tax credits available
