Murphey School Radio Show (Feb 19)

Triangle favorites Jill McCorkle and Daniel Wallace will join an all-North Carolina troupe for an old-time variety show to benefit local mental health agencies on Saturday, February 19, 2011.  

In the tradition of the Grand Ole Opry and Prairie Home Companion, the Murphey School Radio Show will feature performances, comedy and readings by local musicians and writers, including Bland Simpson, Lise Uyanik, Mary Rocap, Jennifer Evans, Jay Cartwright, Stella (a capella) and the Piedmont Players.

Seating is limited to 150 in the auditorium of the newly restored historic Murphey School, near Hillsborough Road and the Durham-Orange line. The two-hour event will begin at 7:30pm and will be recorded for broadcast/podcast.  

The Historic Murphey School is located at 3729 Murphey School Road (intersection with Old NC 10, west of NC-751). The show is sponsored by Shared Visions Retreat Center.
