[Durham INC] Closures on the Durham Freeway

NCDOT will be working on the Durham Freeway/NC 147 at a couple of
different locations/times throughout the week.  The work will involve
the following activities:

 

*         Lane closures in the southbound direction near Chapel Hill
Street and Alston Avenue. This work will involve daily lane closures
between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

 

*         Lane closures in the northbound direction of the Durham
Freeway and on the Fayetteville Road ramp. This work will involve daily
lane closures between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.  

 

*         Beginning Tuesday, nighttime work will be performed from 7
p.m. to 6 a.m. on the Briggs Road ramps. Tuesday night's work will
involve the closure of the on and off ramp in the northbound direction.
The detours will be as follows:

 

NB NC 147 to Briggs Avenue 

o    Continue on NC 147 NB to Alston Avenue (Exit 11) 

o    Turn left at the top of the ramp 

o    Turn left on to NC 147 SB 

o    Follow NC 147 SB to Briggs Avenue (Exit 12)

 

Briggs Avenue to NC 147 NB

o    Follow Briggs Avenue to NC 147 SB 

o    Turn left onto NC 147 SB 

o    Continue on NC 147 SB to Ellis Road (Exit 14) 

o    Turn left at bottom of ramp 

o    Turn left onto NC 147 NB

 

*         Wednesday night work requires closure of southbound Briggs
Avenue on and off ramps between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.  The detours will be
as follows:

 

SB NC 147 to Briggs Avenue 

o    Continue on NC 147 SB to Ellis Road (Exit 14) 

o    Turn left at bottom of ramp 

o    Turn left onto NC 147 NB 

o    Exit NC 147 NB at Briggs Avenue

 

Briggs Avenue to NC 147 SB

o    Follow Briggs Avenue to NC 147 NB 

o    Turn left onto NC 147 NB 

o    Continue on NC 147 NB to Alston Avenue (Exit 11) 

o    Turn left at top of the ramp onto NC 147 SB
