Updated Recycling Collection Calendars Now Available Online

Residents Encouraged to Download Calendar from City's Website

 

DURHAM, N.C. - To ensure all city residents understand their recycling
pick-up schedule, updated recycling calendars are now available on the
City of Durham's website.

 

Curbside recycling is collected bi-weekly with the collection schedules
divided into a "red zone" and a "blue zone." Residents are encouraged to
visit the City's website at 
www.DurhamNC.gov/Departments/Solid/pdf/recycling_map.pdf if they are
unsure whether they are a "blue zone" or "red zone" customer.  

 

Once that has been determined, a 2011-2012 collection schedule can be
downloaded at www.DurhamNC.gov/Departments/Solid/pdf/blue_schedule.pdf
for "blue zone" customers or 
www.DurhamNC.gov/Departments/Solid/pdf/red_schedule.pdf for "red zone"
customers.

 

The new 18-month calendars provide the recycling schedule from July 1,
2011 to December 31, 2012, and also contain collection information for
holidays.

 

Durham residents can also conveniently recycle most items, including old
electronics, at the City's Waste Disposal and Recycling Center (Transfer
Station), which is located at 2115 E. Club Blvd. The facility is open
Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30
a.m. to 12 p.m.
