[Durham INC] Updates "BB&T" building contaminated dry cleaning chemicals

The ³BB&T site,² at the corner of Club Blvd and Watts Streets, is one of the
sites in Durham that is contaminated by dry cleaning chemicals.

There has been a change in dates regarding ²BB&T² asbestos removal.  Please
spread the word.

Upcoming Activities for 2011 and Projected Schedule:

(all dates are estimates)

·       July 11-15: Install security fencing and abate the asbestos.

·       July 15: Submit asbestos abatement report and demolition permit

to the City of Durham.

·       July 18-22: Perform the building demolition activities.

·       August 5: Complete air monitoring and remove fencing.

·       August: Conduct post-demolition soil and groundwater sampling

activities.

·       September: Draft Remedial Action Plan (RAP) for source removal.

·       October: Initiate a 30-day public comment period for the RAP and

hold a public meeting/information session.

·       November: Address public comments on the RAP.

·       December: Perform the source removal activities per the RAP.
