Please  cross post this request to all neighborhoods. Even neighborhoods on 
the other  side of town enjoy Duke Park, perhaps folks will come out to 
support keeping  this park the tree filled we've grown to expect.

Hope all  had a great holiday season. This is just a reminder regarding Sat 
Jan  14.
 

2011 was  a year we lost a lot of trees in our neighborhood to make way for 
new  sidewalks.
It was  also the year we discovered we were dangerously close to losing 
more trees in  the park itself.
 

2012 is  the year of tree replenishment in Duke Park, and we need to pitch 
in to save  our old trees and plant new ones. The city will supply the 
saplings and mulch,  but they need our help to plant them.
 

Please  save Sat morning, Jan 14, on your calendars - more details will be 
posted  later.

Delayed response, but many thanks to Bill for drumming up  an effort to 
save old trees and plant new trees in the Park.   I  hope many people will mark 
Jan 14th on their calendar so that we  get a great volunteer turnout!   And 
I will email Alex to see if  the city can provide us with tools to remove 
ivy on trees, since several  people have mentioned it’s a problem in the 
park.
