Durham County Library Hosts Fourth Event in the 'Liberated Gardener' Series:
Growing Herbs in the Kitchen Garden

Program: The Liberated Gardener: Growing Herbs in the Kitchen Garden
Date: Thursday, February 9
Time: 7 p.m.

About: Durham County Library hosts the last of the four-part series, The Liberated Gardener: Tips for Easy, Sustainable, and Edible Gardens. This session, led by local garden expert Frank Hyman, will focus on growing herbs in pots and in the garden. Not only do fresh herbs add new dimensions to cooking, but herbs are evergreen, fragrant, drought hardy and deer don't like them. The program takes place at the East Regional Library, 211 Lick Creek Lane, on Thursday, February 9 at 7 p.m.
Frank Hyman has been published in the New York Times; he is a columnist for the Durham News and Urban Farm, and a contributing editor for Horticulture. He has been creating gardens in the Triangle for over 20 years.
This event is sponsored by Durham Library Foundation. For more information about the program, contact Joanne Abel at 560-0268.
