Durham InterNeighborhood Council to Sponsor Durham County Commissioners Candidate Forums

Durham, NC –February 15, 2012

The Durham InterNeighborhood Council (INC) is sponsoring candidates' forums for the primary elections for the Durham County Commissioners.

If there are Democratic or Republican primaries, INC is inviting the Democratic primary candidates to a forum on Wednesday, March 28 and the Republican primary candidates to a forum on Thursday March 29, 2012.

Both forums will be held at the North Carolina Central University School of Education Auditorium. Doors will open at 6:30 PM.  The candidates will be introduced at 6:45 PM and the forums will run from 7:00-9:00 PM. The forums will be open to the public.

Bob Ashley, Executive Director of Preservation Durham and former editor of the Durham Herald Sun, will serve as forum moderator, asking the candidates questions on a broad range of issues. He will also use questions submitted in writing by attendees at the forums.  

The chairs of the Durham Democratic and Republican parties have been asked to have their candidates set these dates aside to help inform the public for these important primaries.

The Durham InterNeighborhood Council (INC), organized in 1984, is a coalition of Durham's neighborhoods and homeowner associations.  Our mission is to promote the quality, stability and vitality of Durham's residential neighborhoods.
