Durham Plugging In!  A City-County Electric Vehicle and Charging Station Celebration and EV Ride and Drive!

The Durham City-County Sustainability Office invites you to attend a celebration of the installation of electric vehicle charging stations throughout Durham and the purchase of electric vehicles for the City fleet.

Where:  Durham Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St.
When:  March 21, 2012,  10:00AM - 12:00PM
*         10:00-10:20  Comments by government officials
*         10:20-10:30 EV Charging Station Ribbon Cutting and EV ceremonial "plugging in"

*         10:30-12:00  Electric Vehicle Ride and Drive - Test out an electric vehicle around downtown Durham.  Pre-register here. http://goo.gl/vc2N2

These steps represent Durham's commitment to reducing its Greenhouse Gas Emissions and its long-term approach to sustainability.   This is part of Durham's strategic Electric Vehicle and Charging Station Plan and the County's Strategic Plan. Stations were funded through the US Department of Energy in partnership with the Triangle J Council of Governments' Blue Skies Grant and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program.
