About: Durham County Library will host Those Eno River Boys, Wayne Poole and Dave Cook, for a program of stories and songs on Thursday, March 22 at 7 p.m. at the North Regional Library, 221 Milton Road. Poole and Cook, favorites at the Eno River Festival, bring their program indoors for Durham's Creek Week. Cook's songs, with banjo, guitar, fiddle and spoons, complement Poole's work with river renderings of story-songs. They have been singing and telling tales together for two decades. This program is co-sponsored by Durham's Creek Week and Schoolhouse of Wonder.
Poole is a storyteller, naturalist and cultural interpreter. His tales, taken from the legendary and the personal, are drawn from his love of nature and local culture. Cook is a naturalist, teacher, philosopher and author of The Piedmont Almanac, a week-by-week guide of essays and observations of the natural environment. The two co-founded the Schoolhouse of Wonder in 1989.
For more information, contact Joanne Abel at 560-0268.This program is made possible by funding from Durham Library Foundation.
Durham County Library provides the entire community with books, services and other resources that inform, inspire learning, cultivate understanding and excite the imagination. For more information, visit your local library or visit us online at durhamcountylibrary.org.
