Durham Hosts Little Five Points Neighborhood Streetscape Design Meeting

City Seeks Resident Input on North Mangum and Corporation Streets
Intersection Gateway Design

DURHAM, N.C. - Durham residents who participated in neighborhood
meetings to provide input on how the gateway entrance should appear at
the intersection of North Mangum and Corporation streets will soon have
another chance to provide more feedback.

On Monday, April 9, 2012, at 6 p.m., the final design concept will be
presented on the North Mangum Street and Corporation Street Intersection
Project. The public meeting will be held at the UDI Community Resource
Center, located at 800 N. Mangum St., Durham.

Hosted by the City of Durham's Office of Economic and Workforce
Development and the Public Works Department, residents and other project
stakeholders will be able to review the draft civic gateway design
concepts for the neighborhood, learn more about the direction the
project is moving toward, and provide additional input to City staff and
the City's consultant, EG&G, Inc.

The project, which is a part of the planning process for the civic
gateway streetscape design in the Little Five Points neighborhood area,
is funded by 2010 Neighborhood Commercial Revitalization Funds. The City
is continuing to work with its consultant to develop the schematic
designs for the project. Initial community meetings were conducted in
April, September, and October 2008 with residents, businesses, and other
stakeholders in the project area to gather input and provide
opportunities to help determine the conceptual design.

For more information on this upcoming community meeting or this project,
contact Senior Economic Development Manager Chris Dickey with the City's
Office of Economic and Workforce Development at (919) 560-4965, ext.

contact James Golias with EG&G, Inc. at (330) 379-2790 or by email at
office at eggco.com.
