May Press Release for Common Ground Theatre
4815B Hillsborough Road, Durham, NC
DURHAM, NC - Common Ground Theatre (www.cgtheatre.com) is a performance and
teaching space located in west Durham, offering performing arts and
educational groups a flexible, well-equipped alternative space. The Theatre
provides a convenient venue for Triangle audiences to experience the
diversity of our area's arts and educational offerings. All events listed
will be held at Common Ground Theatre. The Theatre is hosting the following
events in May, 2012:

Ghost & Spice Productions Presents: A Taste of Honey by Shelagh Delaney
Passionate, Heart-wrenching, Dangerous. It tells the story of a
seventeen-year-old working class girl and her alcoholic mother, trapped in
poverty, deprived of ambition and vulnerable to manipulation. A Taste of
Honey was part of the late '50's, early '60's genre revolutionizing British
Theatre known as "Kitchen Sink" Theatre.
April 20 & 21, 26, 27, 28, May 3, 4, 5 at 8:00 p.m.
April 29 at 2:00 p.m.

Verynormal Productions Presents: PAN XII
6 performance artists each get 15 minutes to make their claim to fame. Its a
catch all kind of evening and you never know exactly what is going to
happen. Previous evenings have included cross dressing geishas, KISS
reenactments, monologues from the profound to funny, improvisational visual
art, onstage haircuts and many more acts; clothed and nude. Come, take a
chance and see Durham's take on performance art. Please note - content may
not be suitable for children.

Black Poetry Theatre Presents: SPIT: So much more than words
Come and enjoy a dramatic reading of a new play entitled SPIT, written by
spoken word artist and playwright S.M. Micko. After the reading, the
audience will have a chance to offer feedback and ask questions of the
writer. Featuring a cast of some of the area's best spoken word artists.
Includes an opening performance by Micko.
