State of Durham's Economy Breakfast Advance Ticket Deadline May 5

Annual Event Highlights Community's Economic Performance; After May
5thTicket Costs Increase

DURHAM, N.C. - The May 5th deadline for advance ticket sales is near for
the 2012 State of Durham's Economy Breakfast, which shares the progress
made in 2011 to strengthen Durham's economy even amidst the continued
economic downturn and recovery. The theme for this year's event is "Why
Durham is a Great Place for Entrepreneurship and Business Growth."

The annual event will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, from 7 a.m. to
9:30 a.m. at the Durham Convention Center, located at 301 W. Morgan St.
The program will immediately follow the breakfast in the adjacent
Carolina Theatre.

Online registration is available at
www.dcvb-nc.com/comm/SODE_2012/index.htm with advance sale tickets
costing $60 each or $550 for a table of 10. After May 5, tickets will be
$65 each or $600 for a table of 10.

The annual breakfast is the City's premier event focused upon economic
and workforce development and the progress that was made in 2011 to
strengthen Durham's economy. Issues such as employment, tax-base growth,
high-growth industry activity, retail sales, commercial real estate
markets, and wages will be discussed. This year's event will also
feature a panel discussion with representatives from companies and
organizations who will share their perspectives on Durham's innovation,
entrepreneurship, and business climate.

The event is sponsored by the City of Durham's Office of Economic and
Workforce Development, in collaboration with the Greater Durham Chamber
of Commerce, Downtown Durham, Inc., Durham County Government, and the
Durham Convention and Visitors Bureau.

For registration inquiries or questions about the event, contact Public
Relations Coordinator Andrea Mia Groder with the City's Office of
