Durham County Library Presents Documentary Film
in Celebration of the American Dance Festival

Program:             Watch and Read - Bill T. Jones: A Good Man
Date:                     Thursday, June 7
Time:                    7 p.m.
Location:             Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St.
Cost:                      Free and open to the public
About:  In celebration of the American Dance Festival, Durham County Library and UNC-TV will present a screening of excerpts from the documentary film Bill T. Jones: A Good Man. The film chronicles the journey of two-time Tony winner and frequent performer at the American Dance Festival, Bill T. Jones, as he leads the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company in the creation of Fondly Do We Hope...Fervently Do We Pray, an original dance-theatre piece honoring Abraham Lincoln's bicentennial birthday.
Co-directors Bob Hercules of Media Process Group and Gordon Quinn of Kartemquin Films describe the film as "a window into the creative process and the creative crisis of one of our nation's most enduring, provocative artists as he explores what it means to be a good man, to be a free man, to be a citizen."
The screening will take place on Thursday, June 7, at 7 p.m. at the Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St. To learn more about this program, contact Joanne Abel at 919-560-0268.
