Please be advised of the upcoming proposed changes to the text of the Durham Unified Development Ordinance (UDO):   Text Change TC1100009 proposes changes to the following articles of the Unified Development Ordinance regarding off-premise non-residential entry and way-finding signs, with provisions for design standards and requirements for signage plans: Article 2, Review Authority; Article 3, Applications and Permits; Article 6, District Intensity Standards; Article 11, Sign Standards; and Article 16, Definitions. Both types of signs would be on private property and not within rights-of-way. The current restrictions for off-premise advertising and billboards would not be altered.  The Durham Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on TC1100009 on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 101 City Hall Plaza, 1st Floor.   Agenda materials will be available online by August 2, 2012. The text of the proposed change may be viewed at http://durhamnc.gov/ich/cb/ccpd/Pages/Text%20Amendments/Pending-Text-Amendments.aspx.  Interested parties may appear and speak at the public hearing.  Substantial changes to the proposed action may be made following the public hearing.
