Durham Hosts Professional Placement Networking Event Aug. 16

Free Event Tailored for Out-of-Work Professionals

DURHAM, N.C. - Out-of-work professionals interested in sharpening their
skills to become more competitive in today's job market should mark
their calendars now for a free event next week designed specifically for
adult professionals.

The Professional Placement Network is hosting "Networking
Show-and-Tell," an interactive networking event that will help attendees
hone the skills needed to network effectively. Attendees are asked to
bring their business cards, pull out their business wares, practice
their elevator speeches, and join in to learn new skills on how to
network with ease.

The free event will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2012, from 6 p.m. to
7:30 p.m. at the Durham Convention Center, 301 W. Morgan St., Durham. It
will be conducted by Meloney M. Miller, chief executive officer of M3
and a certified professional coach. Light refreshments and door prizes
will also be provided.

The Professional Placement Network offers targeted career services to
adult professionals through the expansion of networking opportunities,
workshops, development of business partnerships, and job referrals.
Designed to provide opportunities for mid-to-upper level professionals
who have earned at least $30,000 per year or have received higher
education credentials or professional certifications, PPN provides a
place for professionals to come together to share ideas, employment
leads, and current job market information.

Participants interesting in learning more about the Professional
Placement Network or attending next week's event should visit
