Durham Offers Small Business Start Up Seminar August 23
Free Series Designed to Support Small Business Growth
What: "How to Start a Business" - Seminar #1 in a Workshop
Series for Small Businesses

Fast Facts:
* Conducted by Farad Ali, vice president of the N.C. Institute
of Minority Business Enterprise Development and former City Councilman,
this free training is designed for people who are considering starting a
business or who have recently started a business. Information on small
business basics will be provided, including how to develop the business
idea, an outline of the legal process, gathering market information,
start-up capital, state requirements, City of Durham requirements,
licensing and permits, and sources for technical assistance and other
relevant information.
* This workshop, which kicks off the new seminar series for
fiscal year 2012-2013, was developed by the City's Equal Opportunity and
Equity Assurance Department to provide technical assistance services to
local, small businesses for this fiscal year. These free workshops are
open to all interested small business owners and entrepreneurs.

About the Equal Opportunity/Equity Assurance Department
The City of Durham's Equal Opportunity/Equity Assurance Department is
responsible for the implementation of the City's Equal Business
Opportunity Program. Responsibilities include implementation of race and
