For years, I've picked up used packing materials including all types of peanuts, bubble wrap and plain cardboard boxes for reuse at American LAbor in our shipping department.
I am always glad to stop by and pick these up after the Holidays or whenever you find yourself with them and are not able to use them (but please don't throw them away)!

Subject: [durhamenviro] where to recycle packing shells -- packing stores
I received a big box in the mail that had over a garbage full of those non-biodegradable packing shells that Durham won't recycle (not sure if any city does).
I just found out that the Packing Store (UPS/FedEx/etc.) at the Woodcroft shopping center will reuse them :-) I am sure this applies to other packing stores as well.
Just wanted to let everyone know so they can recycle those multi-colored pork-rindy things rather than stuffing our landfills with them.
Cheers,
Melissa (Rooney)
