Join us for…
Bull City Play Streets!
A Durham on the Move Event
It’s “game on” for families as Durham brings fun and fitness to local neighborhoods!
 
Who:  All members of the community are welcome and encouraged to attend
 
When:  Saturday, May 4, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
 
Where:  East Main Street between Alston Ave. and Elm. St.
 
How:  Bull City Play Streets is sponsored by the City of Durham’s Neighborhood Improvement Services Department, Durham County Department of Public Health, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, and the Partnership for a Healthier America
 
Fast Facts:
 
	* All events are free and open to the public.
	* Roads will be closed to traffic as Bull City Play Streets encourages residents and families to run, walk, play, skate and bike in the streets.
	* Planned activities include line dancing, jump roping, bike safety training, four square, hula hooping, badminton, hopscotch, and other physical fitness activities.
	* Refiner’s Fire Community Church (1003 E. Main Street, Durham, N.C. 27701) will also host a health fair featuring a variety of health services, such as blood pressure, HIV, body mass index, prostate, hepatitis, and eye screenings. There will also be informational booths for smoking cessation, nutrition, fitness plans, teen pregnancy prevention, and more.
	* Parking will be located at the corners of Franklin and Elm Streets, near Golden Belt.  Signs will be posted to direct event attendees.
