Please be advised of upcoming public hearings to discuss proposed changes to the Durham Comprehensive Plan, as recommended in the Evaluation and Assessment Report (Plan Amendment A1300001).  The Durham City Council and the Durham County Board of Commissioners adopted the Durham Comprehensive Plan to guide the future development of land within their jurisdictions. In certain circumstances, changed community conditions or the age of the adopted plan may warrant an adjustment to the plan. In accordance with the Plan, staff has completed the annual Evaluation and Assessment Report. This report describes progress in implementing the Plan, includes suggested changes to current Plan policies, and provides an opportunity to rectify any differences between the City and the County Future Land Use Maps.   Please be aware of two public hearings: 1)      The City Council will hold a public hearing at its June 3, 2013 meeting. The meeting starts at 7:00 PM and will be held in the City Council Chambers in City Hall (101 City Hall Plaza).  2)      The Durham County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at its June 10, 2013 meeting. The meeting starts at 7:00 PM and will be held County Board Room of the Durham Courthouse located at 200 East Main Street, on the 2nd floor.
