This e-mail is to notify you that the City Manager’s office is recommending that case SC1300001, the proposed closing of Holland Street, be referred back to the administration, in order to ensure additional public input prior to City Council consideration. This item is currently scheduled for hearing at this Monday’s (October 7, 2013) schedule City Council meeting. If City Council accepts staff’s recommendation, no action will be taken on this case at the October 7, 2013 City Council meeting.

The Durham City-County Planning Department’s Urban Design Center will host the following
Urban Design Studio focused on the future vision for Holland Street.
 
Date:                    October 22, 2013

Time:                    6:00 pm

Location:             315 East Chapel Hill Street
 
The goal for this studio is to provide an opportunity for public input on the future of Holland Street. The event will include brainstorming and visioning exercises to engage stakeholders in identifying goals
 and alternative designs for the continued use of Holland Street. The results of the studio will be used to develop a plan that ensures continued public enjoyment of Holland Street and balances all stakeholder interests.
