New City Hall This Week Begins October 25
"A Healthier Durham" Launches; 25th Annual Hallow-Eno Set for October 31

DTV8's City Hall This Week will debut a new show tonight at 8 p.m. Hosted by Senior Public Affairs Specialist Amy Blalock, this show will feature the following highlights and other topics of interest. You can also watch this new episode on demand at http://www.YouTube.com/CityofDurhamNC.

Future of Downtown's Holland Street Considered
The City-County Planning Department is beginning the process of incorporating the public feedback it has received into future plans for Holland Street. The department held a public meeting on October 22 to hear from stakeholders who have an opinion regarding plans for the downtown street. The meeting included brainstorming and visioning exercises to identify goals and alternative designs for the continued use of Holland Street. The results of the session will be considered as the future of the street is determined.

Durham Earns Green Fleet Recognition
Durham's efforts to have one of the greenest government vehicle fleets in North America are being recognized. The City's Fleet Management Department was awarded 30th place in the Top 50 Government Green Fleet Awards. That recognition comes from the organizers of the 100 Best Fleets in North America and Green Fleet Conference and Expo. Durham is the only city in North Carolina to be recognized on the Top 50 list.

City and County on the Way to Becoming "A Healthier Durham"
The City and County have joined forces as part of a campaign to create "A Healthier Durham." The goal is to get 28,000 residents to complete 420,000 hours of activity, and to lose 280,000 pounds. Durham County Public Health Director Gayle Harris explains how the program will work and why it's needed.

25th Annual Hallow-Eno Set for October 31
Durham residents of all ages are invited to the 25th annual Hallow-Eno event. It will take place at West Point on the Eno at 5101 North Roxboro Road on October 31 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Children can enjoy treats at the Mangum House, face painting at the Mill, arts and crafts, hayrides, entertainment, campfire stories and songs, and much more. Adults must be with children at all times and flashlights are recommended.
