[Durham INC] Durham Mardi Gras: further weather update, revised plans

Further update on MG and conditions out and about. Have heard the new Atomic Fern wants to be open for celebrating, but may be best to call ahead to them if thinking of venturing forth. 

 

Correction: Cocoa Cinnamon is closing at 6pm

We have found out some stuff: Motorco, Fullsteam, the Pit, Cocoa Cinnamon, and Geer Street are definitely open and a reasonable Strutter contingent is coming out for the evening. There are a couple other music groups that are planning on coming out too but plans are very fluid, unpredictable and very, very Mardi Gras!  People are meeting for dinner between 5 and 6pm, (Strutters are going to meet in the Pit) and music in one form or another will happen vaguely around 7pm. We will wrap up early enough for safe return home.

 

Folks, we want you to use your best judgment on your driving skills and the road conditions – please err on the side of safety.  Many who are coming can walk or have a hotel downtown. I, for one, married a man who grew up in Michigan and who knows how to drive very, very slowly.

 

It’s not what we had planned but it’s more than we hoped for this morning!
