Durham YouthWork Internship Program Hiring Summer Interns
Employment Opportunities for Ages 14-to-21; Applications Accepted Until April 6th

DURHAM, N.C. - Durham youth, ages 14-to-21, who want to explore a career, earn money and gain valuable work experience this summer are invited to apply to the Durham YouthWork Internship Program (DYIP).

The DYIP, a program of the Durham Workforce Development Board which is administered by the City of Durham's Office of Economic and Workforce Development, is now accepting applications until Monday, April 6, 2015. Approximately 300 summer employment opportunities will be available this year. Youth selected for internships will begin work in mid-June with job assignments typically lasting between six and eight weeks. Participants will also take part in a job skills workshop led by professionals from local businesses and organizations.

Internship placements within the City include the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, Durham Parks and Recreation, and the Public Works Department. Other partners include Durham County Government, Durham Public Schools, Durham Technical Community College, North Carolina Central University as well as local businesses and non-profit organizations.

Potential applicants may review job listings online to determine their eligibility and apply for DYIP positions by visiting http://agency.governmentjobs.com/durhamnc/default.cfm. The position names are listed as "Internship - Durham YouthWork Internship Program." Applicants must submit one application for each position desired.
