City Leaders Weighing Options for Police Department Headquarters Design
City leaders are now weighing options surrounding four possible design concepts for the Police Department's new headquarters. City Council members got a chance to voice opinions on the concepts during their June 4 work session. The nearly 156,000 square-foot complex will be built on East Main Street and will include facilities for all the department's major operations as well as the Durham Emergency Communications Center.

Community Health Worker Program Ready to Get Underway in Northeast Central Durham
The Mayor's Poverty Reduction Initiative is continuing to move forward with the initiative's Health Task Force developing a Community Health Worker program to help connect residents to health-related resources. City Council Member Don Moffitt explains more about the program and how it's expected to impact Northeast Central Durham residents.

Long Meadow Pool Now Open for the Summer
Long Meadow Pool is now open for business. The pool was closed last year due to safety concerns from chronic water infiltration into the mechanical room. Thanks to efforts by Durham Parks and Recreation, General Services and Public Works, the necessary repairs have been made.
