One Stop Voting starts on Thursday at the Board of Elections downtown, the East Regional Library and the South Regional Library.  The schedule is below.

Normally, I would urge folks to get out and vote early, since this is an easy way to get your registration updated if it is somehow wrong (you can check on your registration status at https://www.ncsbe.gov/webapps/voter_search/, always a good thing to do periodically).  However, this year Durham County is rolling out the use of computers to look up voters as they come into their polling places to vote.  That is, when you state your name and address, the person you are talking to will type your name into a computer instead of looking you up in the book.  This is good in that they will have more tricks to find a voter's registration information, but there will no doubt be a learning curve so getting lots of practice this year is probably a good thing.
Note that, except for a few new voters, you do not need an ID this year, but they will be asking you the annoying question about whether you will have an ID for next year.
