Durham Police Chief Public Input Website Launched

DURHAM, N.C. - Durham residents interested in providing feedback about some important factors the City of Durham should consider in the search for the next police chief can now do so online<http://bit.ly/durhampolicechiefsearch>.

The website, http://bit.ly/durhampolicechiefsearch, is part of the first phase of the national search process to allow the public to provide input directly to Developmental Associates, LLC<https://www.developmentalassociates.com/>, the search agency hired<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/7967> to help the City.

According to City Manager Tom Bonfield<http://durhamnc.gov/250/City-Manager>, the recruitment process is expected to take about four months, with the first phase starting now as Developmental Associates, LLC begins gathering information from the public as well as various community stakeholders, including the police department staff and other city leaders.

In mid-December, police department staff input sessions along with two community forums, one to be conducted in Spanish, will be held. Specific locations and times for these community sessions will be announced next week.
