· The MLK-Black Wall Street Classic will showcase stellar basketball competition and promote sportsmanship while exposing young people from throughout the North Carolina to "Black Wall Street<http://durhamnc.gov/540/History-of-Parrish-Street>," whose images are prominently displayed and celebrated in the Historic Parrish Street Forum in downtown Durham.
· The tournament will feature 15 teams from Durham, Raleigh, Kinston, Goldsboro, Cary, and High Point. There will also be a girls' showcase game featuring state powers Kinston and Riverside. Four games will be played on Saturday, January 16 beginning at 1 p.m., and four games will be played on Monday, January 18 beginning at 1 p.m. The price of admission for the games is $6 for youth aged 18 and under and $8 for adults. These games will feature an array of both male and female NCAA Division 1 basketball recruits, including those being recruited by a host of NCAA Division I colleges and universities.
· In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, on Monday, January 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. there will be a players- and coaches-only reception at the Historic Parrish Street Forum, located at 108 W. Parrish St. Teams will learn about the significance of Black Wall Street and hear from inspirational speakers who will tie messages about Durham's Black Wall Street History to basketball and to life.
Ø Featured speakers at this event will be Dewayne Washington, Durham native, N.C. State Wolfpack star, and NFL Player with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings; Daniel Brown, president of New Beginnings Organizational Consulting Firm, and Steven Williams, a former St. Augustine's College track star and current chair of the Durham Workforce Development Board. The City of Durham Office of Economic and Workforce Development and S.J.G. Greater NC Sports will welcome the group and also provide remarks.

About S.J.G. Greater NC Sports
S.J.G. Greater NC Sports, Inc.<http://www.ncproam.com/> was started by three childhood friends: Jerry Stackhouse, Donyell Bryant and Chuck Jones. All three athletes (Chuck, formerly of ECU and WSSU basketball; Donyell, formerly of NCA&T baseball; and Jerry, formerly of UNC-CH basketball and currently playing professionally in the NBA) decided to name their brainchild after their fathers: Sal, Jerry and George, respectively. They later involved Erroll Reese to assist in community-related and marketing activities. S.J.G. Greater NC Sports hosts various events in many different areas. S.J.G. Greater NC Pro-AM, or as its more commonly called Greater NC Pro-AM or NC Pro-AM, is a division of S.J.G. Greater NC Sports. It's designed to bring professional athletes, college players and high school all-stars under one roof to bring the game of basketball to the next level and foster grassroots mentoring. In addition, S.J.G host combines for upcoming high school players.
