Durham Mayor Presents State of the City Address Feb. 15

What:              14th Annual State of the City Address

Who:               City of Durham Mayor William V. "Bill" Bell

When:             Monday, February 15, 2016, from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The regularly scheduled City Council Meeting will immediately follow.

Fast Facts
*         This annual address for Durham residents recounts the City's achievements and challenges throughout the previous year and outlines the mayor's goals for the coming year. New for this year, the conversation-style event will be hosted by Bill Shore, a retired GlaxoSmithKline executive who is also a Durham native, a local community leader, and has served in organizations at the state and national levels.

*         This year's address also includes a short video - This Is How We Do It - highlighting many of the City's 2015 accomplishments.

*         Attendance is free and residents, business owners, and local news media are encouraged to attend. The address will be immediately followed by the regularly scheduled City Council meeting.


*         The address will also be televised live on Durham Television Network<http://durhamnc.gov/1104/Durham-Television-Network> (Time Warner Cable channel 8 and AT&T U-verse channel 99) beginning at 7 p.m., live-streamed<http://durham.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=2>, and live-tweeted<http://twitter.com/CityofDurhamNC>.


*         News media will be provided access to a mult-box during the presentation. Wireless microphones are recommended to help avoid trip hazards.


*         Video of the full address will be uploaded to the Mayor's Web page<http://durhamnc.gov/1315/Office-of-the-Mayor> by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16.  A recap of the address will also be included in the February 19th edition of "City Hall This Week"<http://durhamnc.gov/1125/City-Hall-This-Week> and the complete address will also be available on demand on the City's YouTube channel<http://www.youtube.com/CityofDurhamNC>.
