In Mayor Bill Bell's State of the City Address two years ago, he made poverty reduction a long-term priority to help people living in Census Tract 10.01, which is a large section of Northeast Central Durham with high levels of residents living below the poverty line. In what has become known as the Mayor's Poverty Reduction Initiative, six task forces have been working to tackle issues ranging from jobs, public safety, finance, health, housing, and education. In this new episode, CityLife Host Beverly B.
